Sophisticated Counsel for Significant Developers

Mr. Ganfer’s roots in the New York real estate world run deep. Throughout his career, he has been engaged in every aspect of the acquisition, development, sale, and operation of real property. He has structured generations of transactions and their component documents, including construction contracts, offering plans, and commercial leases.

Mr. Ganfer is highly regarded for his real estate savvy and acumen. An engineer by training, he understands the factors involved in construction and the myriad issues that can affect real property development. He applies this insight and decades of experience to his representation of architects, engineers, and contractors in the development of commercial, multi-family, and multi-use buildings.

Mr. Ganfer also has prodigious experience counseling sponsors, cooperative and condominium boards, and tenant groups through the conversion process. On an ongoing basis, Mr. Ganfer counsels numerous cooperative and condominium boards on governance and business issues. He supports owners in developing low- and moderate-income housing through various New York housing programs.

Prior to co-founding Ganfer & Shore (now Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer) with Steven Shore in 1979, Mr. Ganfer was a partner in the law firm of Laber & Ganfer, which focused on cooperative and condominium conversions and real estate transactions.

Before obtaining his law degree, Mr. Ganfer was an electrical engineer at Sperry Corporation.
