The EEOC has issued its performance report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2014. The number of discrimination charges filed with the EEOC declined for the third year in a row during fiscal year 2014. However, the EEOC obtained more than $22 million in monetary relief for charging parties through litigation, as well as another $296.1 million in monetary relief through mediation, conciliation and other administrative enforcement efforts.
During the year, the EEOC commenced 133 lawsuits on the merits of disputes. Of these, 76 contained Title VII claims, 49 contained Americans with Disabilities Act claims, 12 contained Age Discrimination in Employment Act claims, two contained Equal Pay Act claims, and two contained Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act claims.
